Workshop on Research Methods in Agricultural and Rural Management |

PREMISE: Successful research is dependent on the methods and procedures adopted as well as analytical tools applied. ARMTI's interaction with some
researchers in the agricultural and rural sector shows that sometimes they are unable to identify the
appropriate methods, procedures and analytical tools to carry out research. Consequently,
research results or findings often do not address the
problems of farmers and rural dwellers as expected.
OBJECTIVES: This workshop is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of participants in the various methods, techniques and
and procedures of research in agriculture and rural management. At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:

- apply various methods and analytical tools to agricultural and rural management research;
- define research problems and formulate appropriate hypotheses or research questions;
- design questionnaire and participatory tools for data collection;

discussions.
