Effective Extension Methods for Agro-forestry |
| |
PREMISE: The growing imbalance between the demand and the sustained supply of forestry products in Nigeria has been attributed partly to poor performance of agro-forestry component. Studies revealed that one of the factors responsible for this is the low participation of farmers in forestry activities through farm and community forestry. This may be traced to the fact that extension has not been able to sufficiently transfer agro-forestry technology to the farmers. There is, therefore, a need for effective methods to get all stakeholders involved towards-sustainable supply of forestry products.
