General Management Skills for Managers of Commercial Poultry Farms
 
PREMISE: The ban recently placed on the importation of poultry products into the country coupled with the creation of more enabling environment has lead to the establishment of many commercial poultry farms and expansion of existing ones. ARMTI's interaction with those involved in the poultry business shows that investments do not produce the desired returns. For the farms to operate profitably and sustain ably, the manager require relevant knowledge and skills in the management of Commercial Poultry Farms.

OBJECTIVES: This course is, therefore designed to enhance the capacity of managers and supervisors of commercial poultry farms to effectively and efficiently manage their farm enterprise. At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • manage commercial poultry farms profitable.

  • Cost control and cost reduction techniques in poultry production.
  • Risk management in poultry production.
  • Managing and motivating poultry workers.
TRAINING METHODS: Lecturettes, group discussions and study visits.
