Training Workshop on use of Internet and E-mail facilities for Development Officers (Cyber Extension)
 
PREMISE: The world is going through an information revolution that is drastically changing the way we think and the environment around us. This revolution has reduced the whole world into a global village whereby information can be exchange within a split of second. Also, Information Technology (IT) connectivity enhances a two-ways communication among all the participating agencies in development activities just as development management information is readily available to managers who can access it. However, most managers are either not aware of or lack the skills to use these facilities.

OBJECTIVES: This workshop is aimed at creating awareness and developing appropriate skills in the used of E-mail and Internet facilities among Development Officers. At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
 
  • appreciate the role of E-mail and internet in Development management;
  • access development site for appropriate information; and
  • receive and send massage through E-mail and Internet facilities.
    CONTENT:
  • Concepts of Development management.
  • Introduction to microcomputers.
  • MS- Windows XP / Vista
  • Internet Explorer
  • Principles of Web browsing.
  • Accessing of Internet website.
TRAINING METHODS: Lecturettes, demonstrations and hands-on practical exercises on computers.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Development Officers in Agriculture, Health, Education, Finance, Woman and Youth Development, NGOs, CBOs, etc., Participants need not be computer literate
