Training Presentation Methods and Evaluation Skills |

PREMISE: Many trainers do not have adequate knowledge of different training methods and presentation skills. Consequently, the efforts that such trainers put in training often do not achieve desired results. For training to be result-oriented, trainers need to adopt methods and techniques that help trainees to learn. Trainers also need to gain confidence, become comfortable in their role as trainers and develop presentation and classroom management skills.
OBJECTIVES:
This workshop acts as primer for brand new trainers and strengthen the skills and techniques of experienced trainers. At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:

- use a variety of training methods;
- give presentations using appropriate visual aids;
- manage difficult learners and situations;
- evaluate training; and
- diagnose their own strengths from peer and video feedback.

- Preparation and use of audio-visuals.
- Managing difficult learners and situations.
- Concept and importance of evaluation, and
- Types and methods of evaluation.

TRAINING METHODS: Lecturettes, group discussions, exercises and playback of participants video presentations.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? New and experienced training officers, trainers, instructors, extension supervisors, subject-matter specialists and others who perform training and/or extension functions in the agricultural and rural sector. |
